“Five hours and 21 minutes into the nine hour flight to Anchorage [ for refueling; flight to Seoul from Paris ],
the navigator reported to amateur stations in Canada and Norway that he was nearing the Canadian
military station at Alert on the northern tip of Ellesmere Island”.
What is this about “reported to amateur stations” ? This means contacting amateur radio stations ?
I had not read that before. Do you know more about this ? Did anything show up in ham radio magazines ?
