Already offended people on one of the other lists, figure it’s time to come over here and get people worked up.
I only know what I have seen, and cannot intelligently comment on things where I have no experience, like what’s going on in the buildings and lectures.
I was at Dayton in 2017,18 and 19 and to me it appeared that 17 was the largest of the last four and think that the last show was not as big as the first in 17 but was larger than 18 or 19.
This is my opinion based on observations from the flea market.
Maybe Ham Fest are dying out, maybe Ham radio, I don’t know myself but have also seen in the last ten or so years a real growth in events at places like Gilbert (Red Ball MVPA) and now interest in Dayton in building on that for people to
bring out their equipment, show it off and operate it.
Don’t know where that ever occurred back in the “Old Days” except maybe for Field Day. Additional personal comment about Field Day. I will not be taking part in Field Day with the local club or individually.
Over the past ten years have noticed that I am moving more away from the traditional Ham Radio community and more towards the Military Vehicle and reenactors world, just too much pressure for having to have the newest radio and mode from
the Ham community for me.
