I saw something up there but could not make it out. I guess the guy is an SK as he does not show up on QRZ. The seller is also in WV. 73 – Mike

There is a ham license from 1976 in upper part of the inside lid next to the schematic.   The radio belonged to WA8TOM, William R Mc Dowell, 82 2nd St, Piedmont, WV 26750.

Hi Hue –

I wonder how many PRC-1s there are actually out there. It would be interesting to get a list of serial numbers. Mine is 141. 73 – Mike

Some of us will recall a sale of a couple PRC-1 in the last say, 15 years. One went for 75% of this and one went for 150% of this sale.

I think supply and demand variations are very interesting. I have a 'beginner kit radio' I actually personally feel better about owning than wanting a PRC-1, but it would not bring very much money at all, even though it is extremely much rarer. The herd does not know about this kit radio and I'm sure wouldn't see the magic in it.

This sale does I'm sure make those who own some kind of spook radio feel optimistic about a future sale of the item.
