I happened to see on Epay this WWII era vintage Japanese home radio.

I already knew that the civilian radios in Europe, particularly the Axis countries, and Japan were much more lean than in the U.S. and Canada. This radio is really an example
of that. It's a four - valve TRF. Since one tube is rectifier, that means 3 tubes for the signal and audio. Also I noticed that the tuning cap appears to be one single gang. Of course with no commercial broadcasting, there would not be the dials crowded with
stations you saw here. You can also see why unlike the Europe situation, Allied broadcasts to Japan were ineffective.
After I sent the above message to an antique radio enthusiast group, I remembered a photo I had seen, of a U.S. General in a Japanese propaganda
photo, posing with a broadcast radio his captors had "given" him. Anyone recall that photo, have link to it ? Was that Wainright ? Is it the same
model radio ?
