The radio archeology bug bit me a long time ago and it seems to be incurable. I recently started digging for information on a somewhat obscure Canadian Marconi radio known by the model number FR-12, originally designed for use by fishing boats, tugs, etc.  Used by the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II (and after), it is a low power LF/MF receiver and crystal controlled transmitter in one box. The RCN probably ordered hundreds of them but currently I know of only 6 that still exist. Does anyone on this list have one of these radios or know of someone that does? If so, I would appreciate hearing from you. I am looking for manuals, ads, sales brochures, etc. and of course photos are worth a thousand words, especially ones showing details on the ID plate.

If you're interested in what this beast may look like, here's a link to my friend Jerry Proc's webpage on the FR-12:

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Regards to all,

Tom
