[Milsurplus] ARRL and thinking

This is one of those landmine subjects, you have to be careful where you
step.  My primary gripe is that when I comment directly to HQ and/or my SM,
they are usually mute.  The ASM for this area is sort of in 'our' box when
it comes to the ARRL and bad decisions they seem to make, and has told me
of some of the battles he witnessed in the ARRL Boardroom.  But, they are
like a government organization, they do not listen, reply, or give
debatable feedback.  The organization as a whole just doesn't care what you
think.

They are in a pickle as the membership declines, not primarily because of
non-renewals, but the 'Old Guard', those of us that have been in this game
50 or more years and aRRL members for decades are going SK, and the highest
ham population, the Technician class,  the League has not figured how to
crack that egg that will get them to join, the mostly tell the ARRL they
don't need them
