[Milsurplus] GF/RU Information

I'm trying to help a gentleman with GF/RU information.
I thought had a GF-2, but can't find it.  I do have a
GF-1, but the information needed is part of the GF-2.

Many of us are familiar with the Army copying  SCR-274N,
but many may not know that the Navy first pilfered the GF set
from the 1932 Army SCR-AB-183.  The two diagrams are
essentially mirror images.  These early sets used 4-pin Triodes.

The Navy had been using the 1932 RU receiver for
Range/DF/Liaison for some time.
By adding a transmitter copied from the
Army's early SCR-A*-183, they had a puny, though working
Command Set.  Only 1.5 Watts out, but it was a start.
They began tinkering with it right away.
They added the transmitter and
ordered the first "GF/RU" set as a "GF,"
not separating  this as a transmitter nomenclature
until GF-1.  The order contract for the "GF" set
of RX/TX was let in November of 1932.

If you have a GF-2 or a manual for it,  Nomenclature plate info on
contract dates and equipment CBY- numbers plus a view of
the tube sockets would be very helpful.
Our big question of the moment is the tube compliment,
specifically  the deployment of the 837.
We know for sure the triodes were in the original GF and
the GF-1.  We know for sure that the 837s were in the GF-3.
The question is: Which transmitter version was first
to deploy the 837?  What year was the contract let which
"modernized" the GF transmitter to use 837?
