I have done Fastenall too but think today they go by the name Blue Line Freight and it's the best way to ship terminal to terminal. UPS has way too high a damage rate for me to deal with them these days. They usually have pallets available at the Fastenall stores for free; least never had to pay for one. But they can be a bit pricy on things like tape and cargo straps.

I moved a vortec 5.3L V8 plus the 6L80 transmission using Fastenal. Worked fine! Has to be strappable to a pallet. I don’t know if I’d trust them with a teletype, however. Much more delicate than an engine and transmission.

Fastenal used to offer freight shipping if there was a Fastenal at the location you needed to send to. I think it had to be on a pallet and secured, but it was more economical than most. Also, Greyhound used to be the original overnight shipper and they still ship freight, but not sure they are as inexpensive as they used to be.
