I have not owned an RAL for about a decade now. I took mine to the Rickreall hamfest to sell - - there was zero interest - - so i just gave it away. Maybe a mistake. However, i have maybe 10 regens of smaller size so i will be content with them.
I don't remember at all the RAK RAL being over 70 lbs. That's right near my threshold of pain, and i just don't remember it being that painful to lift, just cumbersome.

I think my fave regen is the German
Torn.E.b altho its upper end is 7100 kHz. I did find to my surprise two examples with a differing control shaft diameter, so that a knob on one, i think regen or gain ? would not fit the other. Also, 1943 was the year they went to lowgrade pot metal, which makes it weigh 2x as much, so you want to be careful.
