I made a mistake in naming the tubes used in the 1929 Navy radio.
The transmitter tubes are 3x CW-2566. A triode with about 50 watts plate disippation.
The receiver tubes are 5x CW-1344. A so-called "peanut tube". 1 volt filament, run at 45 volts plate, 24k ohm plate resistance triode.
The transmitter tube i can probably figure out a sub for.
The receiver tube, i sure don't want to pay the price for the 5 i need. I am thinking i will use a submini tube triode with an adapator for
the bases. Or even JFETs ( "Filament Eliminated Tubes" ).
Or, your suggestion as to tube.
The radio covers only 3 - 4 MHz. Made with an eye to the surplus market, i suppose, altho i would rather it work on 40 meters.
