Some years back i bought an RMB - HF with a HB PS - speaker AND original power cable, just because it would make checking out my RBMs to sell, plus of course that it was low priced. The HF receiver has too fast tuning rate and poor selectivity, which is probly what the Navy wanted for its purpose. The LF receiver however has a nice low IF and the tuning rate, 4 bands 300 - 2000 kHz, is decent and it's a nice rec for AM BC band or 160 meter DXing.
I think Uncle Sam paid something like $1000 each for the recs, and that was 1940s dollars.
I remember buying one and large PS - audio amp from Lake Union, Seattle outfit that converted Navy surplus ships to fishing fleet tenders. The RBM worked perfectly after maybe 40 years of disuse.

I also now recall on Ebay an RBM pair that had been modified to 19 inch rackmount. No doubt by some military workshop as a make-work project to justify jobs.

Oh - while i'm digressing - the NWVRS invite Beseda auction in Portland OR couple years back - there were 2 pairs RBM and control box and no doubt AC supplies also.
BUT they were without cabinets - as were several other comm recs there. The lack of cabinets was a deal killer for me - if the cabinets were there, i would have picked them up just to save them and pass them on. But you know how some of these big estate sales are - you are overloaded, figuratively and literally - it's just too much, and you have a fixed limited time to make your decisions. I suppose cabinets for these and the HRO-60 etc. all went into the garbage somehow beforehand. Well, you can only do what you can do.
