Hi

Turns out that you can hook a pretty normal signal generator to an antenna and
key up various local repeaters. Sometimes you might do it on purpose (with proper
ID)  rather than by accident :) :) :). I have data on that being true for at least 50
years. 

Doing VHF com to an airport you can easily see from your plane? You don’t need
much power into your antenna if it’s a clear channel and their gear is running properly.
