Hello Chuck, WB6PVC -
I just wanted to let you know i enjoyed your article in the January 2008 QST magazine, on the 'TM Handy' transceiver. I have 2 of these, that i bought some decades back at an auction.
Mine have the two outboard spools for antenna wire, but no outer case. I am glad you discovered which tubes to use in it. Mine await restoration, maybe in two years after i downsize
and relocate. I wondered too, just how stable that circuit can really be. I think it would be a kick to use it on the air - to the extent that's possible ! Mine has the disintegrating dials
problem too. I haven't looked at them for years but i hope the dials are intact enough i can photograph them and use that as a basis for making new dials. I unfortunately don't know
any of the history of my sets. Thanks for doing the article !
