While we are on the subject of Huntsville.

A new ‘Signals Museum’ in Huntsville Al just opened its doors to the public.

https://signals-museum.org/

A local ham bought the building and brought in his extensive collection. Some 1000+ items if I remember right.

Early days of radio, TV and telephone.

DXE featured the Museum in an article lately…check it out!!

The local hm club has been meeting there for a couple of years now as the interior of the museum and equipment displays were being worked on in preparation to open.

Complete with a working ham shack area . Modern to vintage ham gear. Yes a Collins KWM2 and 30L1, Drake and Heathkit gear.

Besides the Collins not a lot of pure Military gear. But a lot of pristine examples of vintage electronics.

While in Huntsville if you like Military oriented equipment including vehicles then our Veterans Memorial Museum would be a must see. Especially if you like vehicles. Jeeps, tanks, Bell Cobra etc The largest collection of jeep variants I think I’ve ever seen.

Years ago it only had a lonely BC348 and another of couple of pieces of commo gear.

You can see a sampling of some of my own milsurplus commo gear I loaned to the museum on display there now.

To appease the wife and kids there is always NASA Space Camp here in the Rocket City.
