Hi,
There was a pretty cool one that I never got to know. My friend's
grandfather Watson Czerwinski was an AAF radio operator in WWII. He was
also a ham. He became an engineer and did some pretty interesting antenna
work with the Army at Camp Evans, some of which we recognize as vehicular
antennas, and others maybe not including a helicopter antenna.
He was a ham also I think W2JSJ.
Check out this biography from an IEEE publication:
https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?arnumber=1622108
His would be a good story to tell at InfoAge.
Rob
