Nico, i wonder if you have any comment on the usability of the ARC-2 ?
Certainly a "unique" radio, with the 2 RF and the variable IF. I suppose the mulitiple RF amps was to ensure AGC action was very effective, in a radio designed
for not special radio - operator types. I knew a fellow in Seattle area, Jimmy Horn, who had used one in a Navy helicopter back then. I thought of using a 2
terminal q multiplier to improve the selectivity, but this maybe has some problems throwing off IF tracking, so maybe it would need 2 controls, selectivity
and frequency, via an external box. But maybe i should just give up on this radio and move on. I have plenty of other cool projects waiting.
Several decades back i talked to a fellow who had actually used ARC-2 for CW in his car, not mobile though, just portable. I asked about the CW offset, which
there is not, only manual, but he said it was not a problem. Kudos to him, what a trooper.

Years ago i saw in a surplus store, an ARC-4 with the ammeter in the cutout on the front panel. I thought someone may have done this, but now i think this
was more likely the civilian model of the radio, the WE-number, i think it was.

Which reminded me, i have 10 crystals CR-1A/AR, no "good frequencies" in 40 meters, all in range 6500 to 8500 kHz, which i will mail no cost. No use to me
at all. Maybe you could empty and insert your own crystals for 2 meters.
