"That looks like a recent photo. The bits and pieces of junk scattered 
around the radio look like things from out in my garage."

I thought the same thing, but some of the crap in my shop goes back to 
the late 1700's, so that's not adequate here.

The piece of wood in the background, OSB, and very coarse/cheap OSB 
suggests it's more recent.  I don't think "plywood" during the 'Nam era 
was made by gluing giant splinters together, but I could be wrong.
