Howdy,
Regarding your question about other military radio AM to SSB
conversions, two others come to mind. There was the conversion of the
AN/GRC-26D RATT van to the SSB (and frequency synthesis) AN/GRC-129, and
the conversion of the AN/FRT-24 to the SSB (and frequency synthesis)
AN/FRT-24A. Both were done by Manson Laboratories.
I have an AN/GRC-129, but am sorry to say I've never heard of anyone
with an AN/FRT-24A. Does anyone know of one still in existence?
