I actually thought that maybe collecting mil comm miniatures would be the way. You could have your whole collection in the box the size of an apple bushel
box, and never have to think plan-out how you were going to lift the thing safely. I still have several pieces, like a German 100WS and an Ultimate Soldier pair
of BC-611 knockoffs, and mini German, Siemens K-32 troop morale receiver. I thought about at one time, building an actual small radio receiver in those
miniature cabinets. I recall there was also a "GI Joe" kit box around 20+ years ago on the 'Pearl Harbor' theme; it included something that looked like the TBX.
OH yeah - also in German pre -WWII toys, there were 'radio figures', that is, troops using various radios or the artist's idea of what a radio was. You want to not
be distracted by the "laser cut" models though, where you just get a flat sheet of etched plastic and you have to cut out the parts, assemble and paint them.
I think some of the German miniatures like the Torn.Fu.d sets are made in Hong Kong. "We'll see how long that lasts", just came to mind, now that the PRC is
tightening the grips. Or maybe it's only obsolete PLA equipment they don't want exported, a "loss of face" thing.
