If the osc craps out on only one band, you need to see what's up with the coil for that band. You also need to check the neg grid bias of the osc stage to ensure the osc is healthy. Assuming the parts values and  bias voltages are okay on other bands, there is something unhealthy about the problem band coil. Like shorted turns or some such. Tin whiskers and so on won't choose only one band to bother. You have first subbed in a known good osc tube, right ?
Regarding another comment, my pref is for the sets without the LF band. These have slightly better dial resolution, an antenna trim control, and ( to my thinking ) a more rational crystal filter circuit.
