I happen to really like the grey. I saw a photo in a National Radio Co. pub that shows an all - grey HRO and thought it looked better than black,
No racism here; i think it just brings out the controls and such better. I think the Japanese and German HROs with their lighter color finish look
more distinguished than the black wrinkle US HROs, which are so - 1930s. 
I recently got an SRR-13, which is also grey. I hope i find it's repairable, cuz it looks really neat.
