[Milsurplus] more on useless crystals

The same swapmeet seller had another box of E F Johnson crystals, all in little envelopes. I opened a couple up and though they were real hard to read, it looked like they were in the 32 to 33 MHz range. I did not want to risk $20 on a box of truly useless tinned quartz bits.
There was a seller with 3 tables of tubes, boxed, mostly new but a lot were "serviceman's swapouts", the boxes with the tube number underlined. At the end of the meet, the seller said, everything is free ! I got 4 flats of tubes myself, tubes in the 6 mini series. The seller first culls out from his wares the audiophile tubes, 12AX7A and 6L6 and so on, so you're not going to find those, or 1L6 or 7360, among the $2 tubes. Those are sold elsewhere. A sidekick of his told me that for example a tube that formerly sold for $5 not that long ago now sells for like $2.50 He said there's now an oversupply, who would have guessed, as those warehouses and stashes are emptied. I see once again i misjudged the market and my downsizing coincides with a market glut.
