I am very interested in how the final was bypassed. 
Why?
I have some radios that are solid state except for the vac tube final and perhaps its driver. My interest is in yes, bypassing the vac tube and going right out, and i'm okay with QRP level. 
One example just to consider is the Northern 550. It is crystal controlled and 2 tubes in final. The ss driver has an output transformer of 200 ohms secondary to the tube grids. I have not
done a lot of thinking about how to do this, but the 200 ohm can be modified or transformed to 50 and then the output filters could still be used. Anyway that's what i'm thinking.
