If you observe the "do no harm" doctrine, then Evapo-Rust is probably the best bet. With corrosion removal on vintage parts, time is your ally, not aggressive reagents. In my professional career, I surprised many people with what could be done over time versus "quick" aggressive removal. Suffice to say that we needed to preserve features AND remove the corrosion products.

Subject: [Milsurplus] Advice on rust remover ?

Anyone familiar with this rust remover product?
The site is
https://www.viyshop.com/funnel/heavy-duty-metal-rust-remover?utm_source=ytv&utm_medium=21753570636&utm_campaign=%E5%BC%BA%E5%8A%9B%E4%B8%8D%E9%94%88%E9%92%A2%E9%99%A4%E9%94%88%E5%89%82-funnel&utm_content=718094656267&utm_term=167331134319&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpvK4BhDUARIsADHt9sQo6xMzA2YRHDLS68J6SIRbL_lx01UWHlSiDZz8DxMXsudDFQ-ag2saAmxqEALw_wcB

The product comes from the PRC, which makes me slightly skeptical, to start with. Says no scratch.
thanks-
