I've had trouble with braid shattering if there is vibration.

I've been looking at welding wire from time to time, here are some

The EPDM insulation is really good, I've been using a lot of wire 
covered in that for the past few years, I look for it almost exclusively.

Silicone covered is another option, also very, very high current wire, 
and generally super flexible, due to 3,200 strands in this 6AWG wire:
