[Milsurplus] BC-611 Operational Range

           We have talked across the Delaware Bay with the BC-611, as 
well as  the Pogo Stick and the DAV. Operators on the New Jersey side 
were Dave KB3ELD  and Mark KD3ZK - a fine bunch.
The secret to maximize ops for any of the low power sets is to tune the 
transmitter final for maximum Field Strength with the antenna fully 
extended while you are holding on to the set. ( you are the counterpoise 
!) I usually would do a little touch up on tuning at the OL.
