Ok, so this is the deal. Hamvention is coming up in a week or two. As everyone knows we do a couple regular backpack and handheld radio nets every year. They regularly take place on Saturday. In the past we have done a 3885 AM net that favors WW2 era sets, BC-611, MAB/DAV, SCR and TBX Think we schedule it for eleven or noon. The second net is the 51.0 Cold War FM net that favors newer radios from older PRC-6/10, PRC-25/77 and newer sets, think this will happen around two in the afternoon.
Anyone have any comments, different ideas or burning desires to be NCS for the nets? I am planning on dragging out a Harris five thousand series exciter, amplifier and tuner with the idea of using that as NCS at the MMRCG tent, figure if no one else wants it can always put something up for the 51.0 net.
Any interest in 5.357, 18.157 USB or 144.25 AM? Can always do the sixty meter and seventeen-meter stuff with the Harris and if there is proposed activity on 144.25 can drag out a URC for that.
Don't assume that because I am posting this that I am somehow assuming that I am speaking for everyone but let's try to get this all resolved before we get there this year. Although its late in the day I am still determining what radios I have to drag out for the event
