I'm near finishing the revival of a 1941 Lorenz German E10K aircraft
receiver. 3-6 MC, like a BC-454. Beautiful and impressive build.

I found NO bad capacitors and only one resistor which needed "tweeking."
Working on a write-up.

One thing I investigated was preserving the original parts by running
the receiver on lowered B+. I'm using an external amplified speaker with
volume control and will cover why in the write-up.

Speced B+ is 210VDC. I found the best S/N ratio and least distortion
with very acceptable performance was with a B+ of 90VDC. Even cooler:
playing merrily at 90V, the set draws a whopping
7 milliamps on the B+ buss.

I measured it twice to be sure.
A stack of alkaline 9V batteries, which can usually source 1 Amp-Hour,
would run this rig for around 120 hours+. The TORN e.B. "battery"
infantry set draws better than three times this amount.

More when I get the article done.
