I didn’t see a whole lot of info there, did you ?
BTW, years ago i met someone in Quesnel, BC, who had worked as an intercept operator in UK in WW2.
Hugh Walker. A letter to him, all the actual address i had, written maybe 3 years ago, was unanswered.
So last year i looked online and didn’t find specific details but it appeared he had passed away.
I got a couple manuals from him. I really should have interviewed him more on his war experiences at
the intercept station. I think he said they all used HRO receivers at this station. He also knew a local who
was a POW after the Stalingrad battle but who would not talk about the experience.
My brother held a gold claim north of Quesnel for some years. How it worked was, he poured money into
the claim for very little recompense. I went up there with him around year 1997 to renew his claim
ownership and at that time we visited Quesnel, and ghost towns of Quesnel Forks and Barkerville. I really
like that region of BC and you know what, if i was younger, i think i would emigrate from USA and relocate
there. I also recall the semi – ghost town of Wells, BC, the whole town was for sale for a million or so.
