Thanks Paul and Eugene.

My 224C is not a 314 or one of the modified ones. It is #23 of 228 made, so is early before the war I would guess. This one was not ever modified by contract or by a ham. It definitely saw action and was put up wet, literally- must have been stored after the war in a wet crawl space. Was missing the dynamotor , dual volume control and the funny tube shield. I have it running on 12v w/ a Chinese inverter for b plus. However, i need to work on audio and align. BTW, I changed out the “paper” capacitors but then found after cracking one open they were mica. Made me mad because the few with enough wire left measured perfect.

Paul, I still can not find info . If you can give any more hints where to search, I will be grateful

Dale & all

Poked around on the Web and found your 224C...had work done to it like my 348C to add the 200-500kc band which was not originally incorporated into these earlier sets. My 348C became 348S ...and your 224C became 224L. There is a pdf manual on line that covers both radios.

Yours may not have been modified and not have the 200 500kc band

Hoping someone has a manual or can send me to a source for info. This radio looks like a BC-348 but is way different inside. BAMA materials and some websites cover 224s, but not early model like this one ( has tube 41, 6F7 and wiring colors not the same, among other things). Was made for the Army by RCA requiring 12v not 28v. Appreciate any help.
