[Milsurplus] BC-652 Ad Nauseam

One of the things you got to have right in this world is your attributes! Recently referred to the CQ Surplus conversion manual and the comment about the SCR-506, BC-652 and BC-653 calling that set "five hundred pounds of nothing". Decide that I had better go back and check the facts.
First, I was wrong about the source, it was not in any of the Surplus Conversion Manuals. The comment and review of the SCR-506 was in the 1960 Surplus Schematic Handbook by Kenneth B. Grayson, W2HDM published as part of the CQ Technical Series.
Second, my referring to the review saying it was five hundred pounds of nothing was wrong.  the review is on page 37 and refers to the radio set as "This is 400 Lbs. of nothing. Actually, it works pretty well but takes the patience of Job to sort out the millions of tuning units."
Looks like the Surplus Schematics Handbook came out just after the three different CQ Surplus Conversion Manuals and may be a compilation of all three along with additional information on a lot of the post war sets. Many may regard the authors comments as derogatory but I find them entertaining.
Espicaley like on page 71 the comments about the RAL.
