Sad to hear about Joe. He was a neighbor here in KY and I have known him for probably 40 years. I first met him at Maryland Hamfests in his younger days and remember his stories of his service and when he worked for the Lexington paper. I often saw him with cameras back then. When I moved to KY my friend Bob Kroll and I would chat with him at local fests and Bob was really interested in older comm receivers, so Joe had us stop by the "Munsonian" on the way home a couple of times, and Bob got some "goodies" from him. Joe delighted in showing us around, firing up the ART-13 with dyno, what a racket. He truly enjoyed this stuff and took pleasure in knowing and communing with all you guys! He also had a complete rig for horseback (pogo set?) What a collector! I hope those of you truly into the field will see to it that his collection gets treasured, he would like that.
While I am more of a "black box" not "green box" guy, I could appreciate his stuff and the effort he put in. Nice, kind, humble, knowledgeable, pleasant, RIP Joe, we will miss you!73, Jeff Kruth WA3ZKR
