I met Joe through what has become MMRCG and MRCA after I was able to 
start attending the Dayton Hamvention about 15 years ago.  I was looking 
forward to the WWII 3885 Net that I'd read about,  and as soon as I 
wandered up and asked him "what kinda radio is that?" - my education 
began.   Before long I was hearing terms like "dynamonster" and "prick 
74" and spot-on technical information woven around some of the most 
amazing stories I'd ever heard. Joe was not a person you could meet and 
easily forget - I am certainly fortunate to have known him.

If anyone were to ask about the most interesting people I've met,  Joe 
would be right on top of the list.    While he will be missed deeply, 
the richness of his life and his many stories will always remain.
