[Milsurplus] Repair of small variable caps

Was just catching up with my emails and found the ones about cap repair.  The comments involving using a C clamp to recenter the rotor in the stator works, I used a small bench vise.  When centered,  I drilled through the 2 parts, put in a piece of solid copper wire and soldered it all together. I didn't want to trust just re-flowing and adding more solder to the joint.   I originally wrote this procedure up for QST for Hints and Kinks a very long time ago.  I got a rejection letter back from them stating the reason they did not want to publish it, "Not of interest to our current readership".
