Charlie - W4MEC :
Please tell me about the regen receiver you used.
Back in the day, i was fascinated but mostly appalled at the amount of metal work required to build the 'Novice Twins' in the '57 ARRL 'How To Become a Radio Amateur'.
It was really a step up from the earlier book, which used a one tube regen receiver with a whole lot less mechanical work needed.
I was fortunate to find the Twins here at a swapmeet, but sans power supply. I suppose maybe i was the only one at the swapmeet who recognized the things, or maybe
there was one more person. Anyway, after i downsize and relocate ( again, but maybe for the last time ), i really want to get these on the air. The transmitter was designed
only to work on 80, but i dislike that band, so i'll modify it for 40. The book says the 2x 6AQ5 regen is too unstable above 40 meters. But - it will be big fun, i think. ( But
not during contest weekends. )
