And I thought the Collins filters in Northern marine radios was my secret.

Being tied into the commercial fishing community has benefits. When xtal HF
radios were replaced by synth I got lots of cast offs. Some pretty useless.
Some great parts sources.

I really liked the Benmar HF antenna coupler. 8 high quality, manually
adjustable roller, inductors, and associated variable caps (unfortunately
not vacuum variable). Not auto tune.
