One key tidbit on those paper labels:
There is a color logo on the label. That does not seem to fit a 1940’s / early 1950’s sort of rebuild process.
Was the Navy repainting / rebuilding these past the mid 1950’s? (as distinct from restoring one for a museum display ….)
Color wise, the paper and printing are in very good shape. That’s not impossible for a > 60 year time span, however it also seems unlikely.
I think I’d look at them under a microscope and see if there are artifacts from this or that modern ( = post 1970) printing process.
