[Milsurplus] Navy TBT transmitter?

The USS North Carolina blueprints show a TBT in Radio 2 (transmitters)
I have very little info
1939 vintage - made by RCA
VHF Transmitter 60-200mc, phone 50 watts
listed in SHIPS 242A as "experimental" and paired with RAQ receiver which
is listed as "obsolete"

I'm guessing these were replaced very early on by TBS.

Does anyone know more?
