I put "Navy", and "type a grease" into quotes in a search engine, and
got several hits stating it is Lanolin based.

Applications are binocular hinges, corrosion prevention, bearings for
cable handling, et cetera.

Most references are older, and oddball, but Lanotec seems to be a
current supplier/manufacturer:

https://www.lanotec.com.au/

An Australian company, but shouldn't be an issue in the states, I do a
bit of buying/selling through Oz each year.

Some info:

General page:

https://www.lanotec.com/type-a-grease/

Some on ebay:

A hardware company:

You can put "lanotec type a grease" into google, in quotes, and get
several suppliers.
