I have 2 of these heavy wood trunks for the McElroy company "Oscillatone" telegraph practice set.
There are spaces for the tone generator and for 5 telegraph keys. The boxes have no innards. As was
usual with surplus stores, the philosophy was Julius Caesar's: "Divide and conquer". 17 x 9.5 x 8 inches,
10.5 lbs. Shipping will easily run 2 - 3 times this, i imagine, from Oregon coast, 97365.
Do you have an oscillatone? Have you seen one, and might find one?
I much prefer placing this item. It's useless to me, because of the solid wood dividers inside, but i hate
to just toss it, they having made it from WWII to 2023 already.
IF you are in western Oregon or Washington, there is a possibility of handoff with the box, or boxes, free.
I will be at Rickreall, Feb. 2024, and most likely, Puyallup March 2024. And possibly an NWVRS auction or
swap meet in Spring 2024. I can hold onto these that long, knowing at least i do have a disposition plan.
BTW, my notes say this set was the AN/GGQ-1, but i can't verify that. Do you know ?
I also have a larger training set, an AN/GSC-T1, in the trunk with maybe 5 keys, not the full key complement.
I would have to price that at the number of keys times some figure, so that "Divide and conquer" does not
become its fate.
