Here is a link to an article on the development of the SCR-300 radio ( BC-1000 ) which i think well worth saving, if this is your kind
of interest. The author, Mike Roof, is apparently a 'military modeler' rather than a radio specialist, but he has done some fine, fine
work here.

This comes from the FB group 'Vintage Military Radio Group'. Yes, i know. I thought i would be about the last human to be dragged
kicking and screaming into FB. But like any other simple herd animal, i visit any pasture where the grass is green and high.

BTW, for Mike Roof's information: there is a Navy "Modifications Manual" which details the modification of the BC-1000 to have a B+
switch so the small drain won't deplete the B battery when the radio is stored batteried up. I have this manual, but I have to admit
i'm not sure where it is and i don't want to spend time now looking for it. Does someone out there have the manual name, and the
chapter and verse that describes this mod ?

I "may" forward this email to main at army-radios but maybe not. It's more work for me. Their funky funky software disallows any attachment
from my Win10 computer / msn.com and may do that also with links.
