NickSounds like a generalized description of the SRR-11, SRR-12 and SRR-13 that came to be in the mid 1950's, doesn't it?
Interesting that JANAP 161 starts the URR series with the URR-9, that datasheet is dated: 9 May 1952. Guess the budget cuts after WW2 played it's part in the lack of development?
As an aside, the Air Force certainly got the lion's share of the defense budget at the start of the Cold War.Jim
