[Milsurplus] The TV-2/*U - questions.

I own two of the subject tube testers, both originally bought from Fair Radio Sales a long time
ago.

One is a first model, which does NOT have the ferrite chokes on the various leads. Due to
this, whenever I try to test VR tubes, the tester goes into oscillation and within a few minutes
destroys the 83 rectifier tube.

My other TV-2/BU. a much later model which DOES have the ferrites installed, will turn on for
a few seconds, apparently correctly (no lamps dim, etc., ) but then it turns itself off and I am
unable to restart it until it has been unplugged and off for some time.

I'll dig into that when I can.

So, I would like to know of the experience of others who might own one of these things, and
what you think of it, how often do you use it, etc?.

In my opinion it is much too unnecessarily complex for a tube-tester, and takes an
inordinately long to time to set it up to test tubes.
