[Milsurplus] Hammarlund FM-1 and FM-5 village radios post-Vietnam

Hi all,
A gray Vietnam-era Hammarlund FM-5 “village radio” ps showed up at this year’s Shelby NC hamfest with language markings that are not Vietnamese
(I’m trying to get a copy of the ID tag to determine if it is Thai or Cambodian or Laotian).
I have a Hammarlund FM-1 and FM-5 pair with Vietnamese markings on both but are nicely painted red, white, and blue…!
The paint looks factory and I’m thinking “salesman samples” to try and find a civilian market for these post-Vietnam
(or to sell excess existing inventory at least)
Also, my FM-1 is labeled “AIR-1” and the FM-5 “AIR-2” and it's ps “AIR-3” in the shiny rectangle on the ID tags - maybe this means something to someone on this list?
The good news is someone before me added crystals for 147.85 simplex to both units and they both work, together…!
Attached is a picture of the FM-1 AIR-1 ID tag
Another interesting radio mystery, tnx for any thoughts or ideas!
best,
brian
