[Milsurplus] ARR-41 in Transceive

I've been playing with my ARR-41  receiver trying to figure out how to
use it in a "Transceive" mode similar to what I did with the R-390A.
(see link below) The plan would be to use the the main ARR-41 "VFO" that
covers 2.5 to 3.5 Mhz. I would use this signal as a drive signal for the
transmitter converter.    How ever this signal (2.5 to 3.5) is very weak
around  .1 ( point one) Volt PP and any additional load on this signal
degrades my input into the 1st IF and reduces receiver sensitivity.
I need a couple of volts PP and would like to stick with a fairly
simple  converter using a doubler, a osc/ mixer, and a 6CL6 stage  - - -
then use the output to drive another transmitter oscillator stage  or
operate QRP with a couple of watts.
Any suggestons?
