Will be operating from the M151A1 MUTT Friday and Saturday from the annual MVPA Show at the airport in Hagerstown Maryland. Intend to be on the RAT Net on 7087, 850 Hz shift at nine Saturday morning, the MMRCG 7296 USB Net at ten and the Moose & Squirrel 5357 USB Net at noon. Will also be monitoring 51.0 FM if anyone is around for entire time at the show.
The question I have is that it looks like we will be getting rain on and off during the weekend, after all when has there been a MVPA event at the old Aberdeen site or now at the Airport when it has not rained? And I will be using my MEP-035 two cylinder power plant to power everything on board the mutt.
The mutt has the vinyl top and I just installed the side curtains and have one of those push up tent things that I will place right next to it so confident that the rain won't affect operations but the MEP-035 is usually placed at least fifty feet from the mutt out in the open. Anyone got any idea if rain has any effect on that generator? Going to assume that it wont care if its wet or not, and it is 28 volts DC only so its not high voltages. Just don't know if those little field units were weather proof or not?
Will also pull the manual and see what it says but wanted to ask if others have experience running the MEP-035 or its 120 volts AC twin the MEP-025 outside in the rain?
