The Torn.E.b. with the panel replacing the meter, my take on it is that it was a repair when no meter was available.
I am sure the one I put the meter on was not the zinc-alloy 'potmetal', or I would have remembered well the extreme
weight. I do have one, actually 2 that are potmetal. They about take your arm off when you go to lift them by the
top handle. One has a swollen front panel, so that the cabinet has refused all my attempts to remove the receiver from
the cabinet. I suppose worst case, something will have to be sacrificed.

I have a K.W.E.a which I have owned about 30 years and not done a thing with. I think I also have the ACPS, I think,
"NA6", which is about one cubic foot of solid metal. Insane weight. Not that the receiver is a lightweight either. I also
have a L.W.E.a, the LF version, but...somewhere along the delivery route, it was dropped, and the front panel is in 2
pieces. Fun. Now that I supposedly have more time on my hands, I find my interests have somewhat changed or
narrowed, and I think I will be getting rid of a lot of these anchors. The K.W.E.a seems to have somewhat of a cult
following, but I say, largely propaganda. It was great for its time, yes, but there are modern receivers in modern times.
I think I like more my Heathkit SB receivers, which are cream puffs in terms of weight.

We recently sold a German receiver used in 'command Panzers'. A  1 - 3 MHz communications receiver of superlative
specs and construction. This for a war-expendable combat vehicle. I think, not a good allocation of resources when you're
going head to head with an enemy who's not a pushover. "What were they thinking??"
