A item that followed me home the other day, a TS-1112 / APM-84 radar test set. Was offered at a price I could not refuse. Did like the shock mounts on the base of the unit and figure it will yield parts for other projects. Before it gets disassembled just want to check that there is no one who needs something like that first being this is a beautiful example of late fifties early sixties technology.
If not will start disassembling this week if it gets cut up there may be some items that people may be interested in. It has a internal regulated power supply for what appears to be around 200 volts DC and 6.3 VAC that has a 6336 tube with the IERC Black heat shield, never saw one of those before, couple side panels with lots of tubes, coils and relays that have a very unique two part tube shield where one side of the shield is attached to a heat sink and the other half is a clamp that snaps across the tube.
The heart of this thing is some strange waveguide affair with two sets of inputs , a weird mysterious block in the center, some kind of small motor and the like. Very strange looking that also includes circulators and at least two power sensing blocks with internal diodes. The waveguide looks to be 10 gHZ or above but comes out to waveguide adapters to N connectors on the front of the unit. If nothing its bizarre looks may make it a good conversation item.
If anyone is interested in the whole mess before I cut it up, parts or whatever please let me know. I can send pictures.
