[Milsurplus] German VOM meter advice ?

Here is a VOM my friend J bought at a recent hamfest. It's German, WWII era, nothing fabulous and no fabulous confected story of provenance.
It would be fun to use, but....the pointer and meter coil are gone !
This is a real long shot: but do you recognize a very similar U.S. or Brit model, perhaps this was copied from, that we could get, just for the meter
replacement ? Advice, or just give it up ?
