MikeCheck out your local Habitat for Humanities or thrift shop for speakers. You should be able to find a nice small vintage bookshelf speaker for not much money. Hang it on the wall if you like. eBay has transformers Item # 125305555962 is one for $13 which includes shipping for one and $8 each including shipping for four. Hard to beat that price!Jim

Subject: [Milsurplus] WTB: Speaker and headphones for R390
Guys,
I am looking for a pair of good headphones that will work with an R390. The impedance needs to be 600 ohms, or I would also need a suitable matching transformer.
I am also looking for an old style wall mount PA speaker, like the wooden ones you saw up on the wall in old school classrooms. From what I understand, some of these are already 600 home and wouldn’t need any additional transformer. But if you have a speaker that is not 600 home and a suitable matching transformer, that would be great too. Please reply here with a price, or if this is too off-topic for this list because there are no military items like this, then please email me at mjveach2 at yahoo.com with a price. I looked at fair radio, but I didn’t see anything on their website that would work for me.
